Oh, honey, you are so good to us. Somewhere, there is a patron goddess of throwing fantastic parties, and she looks like you. I so did not see that ending coming, and I loved it! Perfect, perfect, perfect. And the Dean-comfort helped immensely. Thank you. {{{{{hugs tight}}}}}

Oh, it's exactly like the end of a great meal. This last part filled me up with all the Sam and Dean and conclusion that I had been missing, and then you went and added that last bit that makes so I definitely would want this meal again sometime. ^_^ Now, I know you said you're not writing more of this, and I can completely understand that -- what a hard story to write --, but this ending was fantastic anyway. Potential for a sequel, theoretically, and showing that it doesn't all wrap up nice and neat. Older Missy is like a refined version of her younger, creepier self, and it's just frightening.

I adore your Dean here, and how supportive he is to the struggling Sam -- and how he figured out that something happened. I'm so glad you had Dean figure it out instead of Sam saying something, because that's the only way I can see for it to come out. My favorite scene (by which I mean most powerful to me) was when Dean asked about how they tied Sam's legs, and the anger and terror on Sam's face. That just hit me, cos it's when Dean fully realizes it and Sam knows it, and it's just sad and horrible. And yay for Kathleen having a part; she's my favorite episodic character in the show. ^_^ (though the ending hurt me; poor Kathleen. Though I suppose she was the one to kill Neal, but still.)

One spelling nitpick: A week while Sam got so quiet Dean thought he'd forgotten how to take. I think the word you're looking for is "talk". In any case, awesome job with this series, Maygra -- it was engaging and creepy and horribly addictive, and you've pulled off the POVs of the antagonists incredibly well. This is a great read, even if it is mind-squicky beyond all reason.

Yikes!! Loved the ending. Just as...I don't know...as the rest of the story. Loved this experiment.

Loved the way you had Dean handling Sam.

Wonderfully done!

I know this was hard on you, but you did a brilliant job. Absolutely brilliant. A gorgeous ending, too, with Dean trying to rebuild Sam, and poor Kathleen meeting her end the way she did. I think Missy will stay with me for a good long while, she's just that creepy and fascinating.

Thank you. This whole series was amazing. I really don't even know how to give feedback on it other than to say I really enjoyed it. it's been quite a ride.

Wonderful ending to a horrible, fabulous story. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to write. The Dean POV here at the end and how he tries to deal with Sam's and his own reactions is perfect. Thanks so much for sharing.

Wow. Just, jeez. Wow.

I stopped reading this fic several times, because it was that disturbing, but I kept going back to it. It's brilliantly well done and dark, and this end piece did a fantastic job bringing it together.

Thanks so much for creating it.

Oh, Kathleen, Kathleen...damn.
Good, good ending. Sam's guilt over *everything*, Dean just locked in sort of hover, not know what to do...

Lovely stuff, very enjoyable little 'might have been'.
Like he'd been holding his breath the whole time, suffocating or drowning, or just unable to breathe at all.

Exactly.

This is a wonderful ending -- I don't know about you, but I needed to see Sam and Dean like this to get over the horror of everything that had gone before. And then the ending, so inevitable. it still gave me a pang.

Thanks for this whole thing. It's been a tough read, but a good one.

My bones are sagging with relief. Partly because it's over and partly because...well, it's NOT over.

I dug the way Dean was with Kathleen afterward, on the phone. I love you! You gave us just the sort of ending we needed (I think). Or I needed. Or whatever. I don't know what to say so I'm babbling.

:shudder: This story - dear Gods - well written, creepy as hell. Much scarier then anything I've ever read for this fandom. I was actually sick along with Dean. Whew. I am so sorry for Kathleen, but I was kind of expecting this ending. Humans are always scarier than supernatural things to me. (Except for Skinwalkers. I live in the Southeast and those monsters have always freaked me out. The old legends are chilling.)

Thanks for another great story. I'm a big fan of yours! I think you are the best Supernatural writer out there. I just wish my stuff was as good.

Oh dear... five years could really change the way Missy looks - I wonder if the boys would recognize her. This read just like a season ending cliff-hanger! Maybe once S2 begins, your psyche will be healed and demanding more {I'm sure some of your readers will}.

OH NO! That is sooooooooo not fair. LOL

But, damn is it good. Your genfics are if anything, better than your slash fics.

I just knew Missy was gonna turn up again. And, I knew who was gonna be sorry she did. I also know Missy should remember, "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" if she finds the boys.

Terrific fic. (And, while technically it's not completely gen, it's close enough for me.)

I started this when you finished it - I have no concentration for WiPs anymore. Old age is settling in and gettin' comfortable, lol.

First thought: Before I read past the first line - omg. Home. (X-Files) EEP! (Um, no, I haven't seen all the episodes yet, but I'm working on it.)

Second thought: Upon finishing the story and trolling your LJ to look for maybe more chapters just in case - OMG! You SO should be writing for television.

Third thought: Instantly after second thought - Oh, fuck no! Your writing is way TOO GOOD for television. Let the bastards die in their own putrid scum. But you can have any universe you want and you'll write it good and light and dark and dirty and it'll turn out perfect every time.

I really should just start that Maygra - BNF Fan Club for you. Really. It might save on the sycophantic swooning I do when you post.

Wowzers. This story packs a whollop.

I don't understand at all about the fires starting if Missy has the child. Did I miss something or is this because I've never seen the show?

Anyway, thanks for a great read.

It's related to the show. Dean and Sam's mother was murdered when Sam was 6 months old by a demon who pinned her to the ceiling, cut open her stomach, and then burned her alive. Their father only barely got Sam out (who he gave to Dean -- who was 4 and told him to take Sam outside.) Twenty two years later, Sam's girlfriend, Jessica, died the same way, right above Sam's bed.

It's not a total extrapolation that Sam feels somehow repsonsible for both of them. (Not like he did anyting to his mother or Jess, but that the demon they are hunting is really after Sam.)

See - this is why I love dark. *g*

Dark isn't just creepy and scary and twisted, but dark is being able to make the appalling and horrific real. Dark is about sucking your readers into the headspace where they can comprehend the alien.

Such a wonderful job of making the Benders real, three dimensional. Fucked up maybe, but fully realised flesh and blood and breathing - not just cyphers for the unimaginable.

I'ms till rather flailing here and trying to find the right words...and I'm not sure I ever will be able to articulate it any better than I have done above.

But yes - terrific writing, loved the shifting viewpoints and it worked for me.

You did a great job with this series -- it's creepy and disturbing and it still made me read and kept me interested.

Gotta say -- no matter what potential supernatural monsters are out there, I think I'm more scared of the human kind.

Now I'm gonna go and make sure my doors and windows are locked. And my fence outside. I mean why stop at just the normal kind of security, right?

And thank you thank you thank you for the resolution with Sam and Dean here. It tied everything up really well -- I'm not even going to mention the addition after that. Nope. Not going there.

Brava!
::arranges quantities of bouquets and starts throwing them at you, gently, of course::
This was the best chapter of them all, and given how effing compelling I thought this series was.... wonderful just doesn't begin to cover it.
The resolution/ending was perfect. And then the 5-years-later epilogue was the perfect "Boo!" I was nodding my head over how right the characterizations, dialogue, povs seemed to me. At the same time my shoulders were hunching up from the suspense.
Bless you for taking us on this roller-coaster ride into the human heart.

XD So Dean.

You are a very, very good writer. I enjoyed this story a lot. I've wanted to write a story for Missy since I saw the episode; she was very well played and unforgettable. But other fics have taken precedence so far. Now you're making me want to get busy on something for her.

Anyway, great Sam and Dean voices, also. Kudos!

God, Sam hurting and Dean unable to do anything for him.

Not to mention, poor Kathleen...and um.

This series is like a drug. I want to read it and I don't want to read and then you posted another part and the cycle starts all over again. Seriously, glad it's over (G)
