I'm not really going anywhere (and I'll probably post my reasons in my LJ later). I WILL be hosting all of my fiction and images, etc. OFF SITE.
The problem is LJ provides a unique space that allows for a lot of things that we just can't manage elsewhere and I'm really not happy with the options for journaling sites.
I'm also going to mirror everything onto my own wordpress site so it's backed up.
I'm a permanent member, and I'd much rather stick around and provide rss feeds and and keep the infrastructure going until there really is a viable alternative to LJ.
Not totally off topic, but do you know anyone who has a journalfen and has invitations and could give me one? I'm just covering all the bases. Don't want you beautiful people out of my sight.
I'll probably do it in a couple of months, as soon as my finances allow me. I even mentioned it in my lj. I just wanted to make sure that I'd get to be jellicle when I got there. I grew really fond of the name :)
Just wanted to say that it's comforting to see someone else making the same decision that I've made - moving fic off-site but staying put. I imagine that links to fic housed elsewhere will be safe as houses for a long time yet. Also I don't think that fandom is going to do itself any favours by fragmenting - any further than we absolutely have to - out of fear and knee jerk reaction.

Anyway, if you hear from someone who has it, or if you figure how to access yours, let me know?
