I honestly did not think it was possible to write these two characters in a believable slash relationship. I am happy to say that you have proved once again that a great writer can make ANYTHING believable. I know this is an OLD story, but I've only recently started even looking around this fandom (I think I was thoroughly absorbed in the LOTR fandom around the time the orginal TFATF was released. Perhaps another one was eating my brain, but this fandom never really hit my radar until recently.) Can't even figure out what drove me to hunt it for a good story. Maybe it was just the sheer challenge of it. Whatever it was, I am so very glad I did.
This story (and the preceding one) is outstanding. The characters are so in character. The stories are interesting and engaging. The problem I have with most slash is the tendency to feminize one of the characters (or both) and make them so out of character that I'm not even sure what I'm looking at. It's not necessarily bad, it just...holds no appeal for me. If I want to read boy/girl stories, I'll seek out canon pairings. Or just plain unusual Het pairings.
You deliver character driven pieces that are edgy, in character (I know I'm repeating myself but it is such an accomplishment I can't stop gushing), angsty, romantic and SMOLDERING. If there were a crown for Queen of Slash, I would place it on your head and bow down before you.
