The poll is up here: http://maygra.livejournal.com/357629.html
1. Do you believe everyone has a soulmate?
I don't, actually -- i.e. in that there is someone for everyone. It's something I wish were true, even if it weren't just as likely if it were true that there would be no guarantee you'd meet your soulmate (in which case, it's highly likely that mine own would be living in Mongolia or possibly Uzbekistan. Or, you know, in Minneapolis.)
What I do believe is that there are souls which are innately compatible, and you may meet many in your lifetime, and if you happen to fall in love with each other either romantically or platonically, it's a very good thing and likely to last.
But I like the idea, which is probably why I work it into my writing so much.
2. What's your favorite food?
That's a really difficult question because there's a lot of foods I love like sushi, or plain pasta with butter and a little parmesean cheese. There's no food I can't live without, but the food I most commonly reach for in all sorts of situations is cheese: cheddar, swiss, provolone, hard, soft, spreadable, smelly, wonderful cheese.
3. Do you remember talking to me at wincon?
Specifically, no. Wincon is one huge blur to me of faces and names (lj and real) and conversations, so I'd need a more focused context to associate a name with a face and a conversation unless I'd met you before or we spent a lot of time together. And honestly, in some ways, I'm doing better with real names than I am with user names.
4. How do you (Maygra) cultivate internet friendships?
I don't know that I do. In almost all cases of internet friendships, it's been a matter of (usually) mutual admiration. Someone writes something or says something or vids or creates artwork that I admire and say so, or the reverse is true. I don't actually think it's much different than real life, in that we find a common interest and pursue that which may or may not lead to other shared interests.
That inevitably leads me to want to meet people, and usually, once that happens, it's less about the internet and more about just being friends.
5. Of your stories, which do you dislike most?
If you are talking about all my fandoms, the one that immediately springs to mind is "Then A Horsemen" from Highlander. Mostly because it's brutal and violent for no other reason than being brutal and violent. I have one of those in SPN, too. I actually think I have one in every fandom I've ever written in, although not all of them are posted. The ones I do leave up I do so because a) there's some sort of catharsis in writing them and b.) to remind myself that what violence and brutality I do write is better swallowed with a purpose.
