It is entirely possible to respect a person's right to their opinion and not respect a particular opinion. It's also possible to disagree with another person's opinion and still respect the person.

It is nearly impossible to respect a person whose opinion includes the view that anyone who disagrees with their opinion deserves no respect, and furthermore, because their views differ, are morally bankrupt, ethically void, and possibly the root of all evil.

And seriously? People who write (or read) incest are no more likely to be advocating for it in real life than people who write (or read) h/c kidfic are advocating for child abuse.

Naw. No shotguns needed, just another fan with a whine.

Hee! Pressies!

How is the new job going?

OK...puts shotgun away for another time. Perhaps the whiney ones need a good dose of cod liver oil. neat on a spoon. They'd have something to whine about then. *shudders at old childhood memory that stirs up*.

Pressies, yes 'cos your natal day approaches and you so deserve them.

New job: is going splendidly thanks. It's all a bit manic at the moment due to the ward I was recruited for being a building site and therefore non-operational at present, but I am currently running the contingency neurosurgery/neurology ward and covering in the other 3 wards within our department which also embrace those disciplines, and Oncology.

My permanent ward is due to open on the 1st June. My induction has been signed off and I am now flying solo most of the time, though occasionally working with the other ward clerks to try and fend off their paperwork mountains and phone call stacks.

I am thoroughly enjoying the pace and the variety. Plus....I've just been told that we invariably get the public holidays off as most of our work is elective surgery and we try not to schedule that work for public holidays. Leaving it free for emergencies only, nursing and medical staff deal with the basic paperwork for emergency admissions at that time and we pick up the bits they didn't do when we get back.

YAY

Also...I get paid next week. Double Yay, cos I haven't been paid since 29th March and that was only one weeks wages. Money has just about stretched to the end of the pay period, but I'm glad it's pay day soon cos there is a con coming up that I have registered for and I will really appreciate the cash flow easing a little.

How's tricks with you?

HUGS
